Environmental responsibility
At Adriatic Sea Kayaking all guides are
aware of their surrounding and they are constantly providing the travelers
with suggestions of how to minimize potential negative impacts to the environment
and marine ecosystems.
We support the slogan: Help Us Keep the Adriatic Clean. If we find plastic
objects in the sea while kayaking we collect them and proceed for recycling.
We keep our groups very small (with maximum 8 participants) thus, any impact
on the environment is minimized.
Our guides emphasize on the importance of leaving the environment as it
is. We observe marine life but we do not disturb it.
Our kayaks are made of recycable plastic. They do not cause any form of
air or water pollution and they do not produce noise that could be disturbing
for marine life.
We are economic in use of water and electricity.
Economic responsibility
We direct our travelers to local private accommodation providers. Overnight
in private accommodation enhances the visitors’ experience, since
they get an opportunity to be welcomed by a local host and thus get better
insight in everyday life of local people on Croatian islands. Also, in this
way our travelers are contributing to the local economy.
While kayaking we stop for lunch in local restaurants. Thus the guests have
an opportunity to taste some of the typical specialties of the region and
at the same time help local economy. Food in the local restaurants that
we visit during our sea kayaking trips is produced organically where possible.
Those are family owned restaurants that are supplied with fresh fish from
local fishermen and vegetables from local farmers.
For our one-day trips we provide catering from a local restaurant.
Social responsibility
We closely cooperate with local cultural
institutions and we point our visitors towards local cultural festivals
(Dubrovnik Summer Festival) and similar manifestations.
We suggest to our travelers visits to historically, culturally and environmentally
important sights (Old Town of Dubrovnik, Renaissance villas on the island
of Sipan, Nature Park Lokrum).
We volunteer with our services in local welfare projects.
